President John Dramani Mahama has arrived in Malabo, the capital of Equatorial Guinea, to participate in the 7th African Union Mid-Year Coordination Meeting between the African Union (AU) and Regional Economic Communities (RECs), scheduled for tomorrow.
The high-level meeting will bring together Heads of State and Government, Chairpersons of the RECs, and senior AU officials to deliberate on strategic coordination and the implementation of Agenda 2063 — the AU’s blueprint for inclusive and sustainable development on the continent.
President Mahama’s participation underscores Ghana’s continued commitment to continental integration, economic cooperation, and the strengthening of institutional collaboration between the AU and sub-regional blocs.
The President is expected to engage in key discussions focused on regional security, trade integration under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), food systems, and climate resilience.
He was received on arrival by senior Equatoguinean officials and Ghana’s diplomatic mission in Malabo.
More updates are expected following the formal opening of the summit.
