The Prime Minister of the Republic of India, His Excellency Narendra Modi, will undertake a two-day official visit to Ghana from Wednesday, July 2 to Thursday, July 3, 2025, at the invitation of President John Dramani Mahama.
The visit marks a significant milestone in the long-standing relationship between Ghana and India and reflects the shared commitment of both nations to deepen their strategic partnership across multiple sectors.
As part of the official programme, Prime Minister Modi will hold bilateral talks with President Mahama at the Jubilee House.
The two leaders will explore opportunities for enhanced cooperation in key areas including trade, investment, agriculture, technology, education, healthcare, and energy. They are also expected to deliberate on pressing regional and global matters of mutual interest.
The visit will also witness the signing of several bilateral agreements aimed at strengthening institutional frameworks and consolidating economic and diplomatic cooperation between the two countries.
A joint press conference addressed by President Mahama and Prime Minister Modi will follow the signing ceremony.
To honour the visiting leader and his delegation, President Mahama will host a State Dinner at the Banquet Hall.
This official visit, the first by an Indian Prime Minister to Ghana in nearly a decade, is expected to reaffirm the strong historical ties between the two countries, boost bilateral trade and investment, and promote collaboration in emerging sectors critical to sustainable development.
India has long been a key development partner to Ghana, and the visit by Prime Minister Modi is seen as a renewed commitment to elevating Ghana–India relations to even greater heights.
