1. The Ghana Shippers Authority has not blown 2million on ICT Materials as is being alleged by the most discredited online media portal, Ghana Today
2. The Shippers Authority procured 100 pieces of ICT Materials comprising laptops, Tablets Surface Pros, HP Laser Jets, Access Control Zktecos, Uninterrupted Power Supply UPS, Indoor CCTVs, Outdoor CCTVs, CCTV Kits, External Hard disk drives, Port Powered Mixers, Galaxy Solar Inverters with 300ah lithium batteries, JBL Party Box Microphone systems etc
3. Many of these ICT Material needs were inherited and had been budgeted to be procured for staff and the Authority, way back in 2024.
4. The Authority identified five (5) qualified and experienced firms capable of supplying and
installing the required ICT equipment within specified timelines. The shortlisted firms were:
1. Urban Tech Solutions Limited
2. Wumberic Group
3 . Ruzyne Group Limited
4. Procure Charter Limited
5. Venus Hills Company Limited
These firms were shortlisted based on their proven experience in ICT infrastructure supply and installation, strong technical support capacity, reliable after-sales service, and
satisfactory performance in similar assignments. Restricting the tendering process to these
reputable firms was therefore to ensure efficiency, competitiveness, and value for money while
safeguarding the quality and reliability of the equipment to be procured.
6. The Authority did not unilaterally select the organizations. This was done with the expressed and formal approval of the Public Procurement Authority, following which a competitive process was conducted on the Ghana Electronic Procurement Platform.
7. The Authority then sought final approval for the recommended supplier after the competitive process, from the Central Tender Review Committee of the Ministry of Finance.
8. The one who won, Urban Tech Solutions limited supplied all the items and though they were estimated at 2million cedis (and approved by both the Public Procurement Authority and Central Tender Review Committee), the Authority, after its own market survey, re-negotiated the amount further to 1.4 million cedis inclusive of all taxes, and saved some 600,000 cedis. There is evidence to this.
9. Restricted Tendering is part of the the legally provided for Public Procurement Methods and is used depending on the items to be procured and appropriate justifications rooted in the law.
Please disregard the disingenuous attempts at merely smearing current appointees, particularly Prof Ransford Gyampo who remains a torn in the flesh of some people.
