Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central Isaac Adongo has advised the Governor of Bank of Ghana Dr. Ernest Addison to desist from issuing further statements try to explain his actions.
According to him, the statements issued by the Bank in an attempt to explain the Bank writing-off GHC32.3billion debt owed by government has only succeeded in worsening his case.
MP Isaac Adongo who has been chosen by his party the National Democratic Congress to replace Dr. Casel Ato Forson as Ranking member on the Finance Committee said the latest statement by the BoG is akin to digging one’s own grave.
The Minority in Parliament is demanding the resignation of the Governor of the Central Bank and his deputies for the illegal write off.
The minority said the Central Bank should have sought the approval of Parliament before writing off the debt.
Bolgatanga Central MP Isaac Adongo told Sena Nombo the Bank has breached too many of its regulations and must be made to answer for the violations.
