The Vice Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Prof Opoku-Agyemang has urged voters in the Western North Region to vote out “incompetent” New Patriotic Party (NPP) Members of Parliament.
Speaking at Bibiani Ahwiaso Bekwai constituency to wrap up her three-day tour of the region, Opoku-Agyemang said there was a need for change, pointing to the MPs’ failure to address critical development needs in their constituencies.
“Has your MP created jobs, ensured access to water, and provided electricity? If not, then it’s time to vote against them,” she said.
In the Sefwi Akontombra Constituency, residents expressed dissatisfaction with the performance of the incumbent MP, Alex Tetteh Djornobuah.
Similarly, in Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai, some residents expressed their frustrations over the uncompleted market center initiated under the previous NDC administration, accusing their MP of neglecting their needs.
Prof Opoku-Agyemang reassured the voters of the NDC’s commitment to confronting the region’s challenges and fostering effective governance.
In meetings with chiefs and community members throughout the Western North Region, the NDC Veep Candidate stated that her party prioritizes investments in essential services, such as potable water, education, healthcare, and electricity.
She reminded a charged crowd at Sefwi Wiawso that the NDC genuinely cares about their well-being and development.
The NDC Vice Presididential candidate as part of her tour visisted many chiefs in various communities who expressed their disappointment and frustration with the current NPP government, citing neglect of their pressing development needs.
Prof Opoku-Agyemang ceased the opportunity to stress the importance of voting for John Dramani Mahama in the upcoming 2024 presidential election, promising that a future NDC administration would focus on creating jobs, providing employment opportunities for youth, rejuvenating the cocoa sector, and completing abandoned projects.
Her campaign tour was to mobilize votes for the NDC while reiterating the NDC’s dedication to the development of the Western North Region.
