Member of Parliament for Tamale Central Alhaji Inusah Fuseini believes the solution to Speaker’s inability to have a bird eye view of all members of the house is not the construction of a new chamber.
Majority Leader Osei Kyei Mensah in his bid to justify the heavily criticized plan to announce a new chamber has cited the Speakers inability to see every member as a reason.
He told the press some MPs are obstructed from House Speaker Prof Aaron Mike Ocquaye’s view by columns.
Ina sharp response to his colleague, Tamale Central MP Alhaji Inusah Fuseini who is against the construction of the new chamber says the Majority leader should rather be proposing that the Speaker be changed.
Speaking in an interview with host of the Gold Power Drive Sena Nombo believes substituting the Speaker is a cheaper option than spending over $200million to construct a new chamber if their reason is the Prof. Mike Ocquaye’s inability to see properly.
Parliament and government has come under pressure to abandon plans to construct a new chamber with members of the house siding with the angry Ghanaian public.
A design has already been unveiled for the new 450 member chamber which according t reports is intended to improve the work climate of the MPs.
