Former Member of Parliament for Damongo Adam Mutawakilu has advised New Patriotic Party Members of Parliament to vote in favour of the minority MPs motion to censure the Minister for Finance Ken Ofori Atta.
This according to him is the only way the NPP MPs can preserve their credibility.
The Minority leader Haruna Iddrisu would on Thursday 10 November move the motion to censure the Finance Minister Ken Ofori Atta in the latest attempt to force the minister out of office.
Aside ignoring growing calls on him to resign, Finance Minister Ken Ofori Atta seems to have survived an onslaught from all NPP MPs as he remains in office.
The NPP MPs held a press conference to demand the removal of thee Finance Minister from office by President Akufo-Addo.
The Minister and Charles Adu Boahen who is minister of state at the Finance ministry remains in office as a result of what the Majority leader Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu said was a gentleman agreement for the two men to remain in office to oversee the budget and International Monetary Fund negotiations.
Speaking to Sena Nombo on the Gold Morning Conversation, Adam Mutawakilu said the so-called agreement defied logic and has dealt a credibility blow to the original 80 NPP MPs who held the first press conference to call for the resignation or firing of Ken Ofori Atta.
He said the NPP MPs as a result of the backlash this agreement has received from the public have no choice but to back the minority’s censure
The former Damongo MP believes backing the NDC MPs censure motion would be beneficial to the NPP MPs.
