A new poll by Global InfoAnalytics shows the leader of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama (JDM) continues to lead in the race to replace President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo in 2025.
The polls reveal that Mr Mahama leads with 52%, whereas the presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr Mahmudu Bawumia (DMB) leads with 41.3%, Alan Kyeremanten (AKK), 2.3%, Nana K. Bediako (NKB), 4.1% and others 0.4%. Alan Kyeremanten, according to the poll is the biggest gainer during the period as he improves in the Akan regions.
The poll shows that Dr Bawumia continues to lose support among floating voters. Only 11% of floating voters back DMB, 13% back Nana Bediako, 6% back Alan Kyeremanten and 69% now back Mahama. John Mahama also leads among first-time voters with 64%, Dr Bawumia with 33% and Nana Bediako, 3%.
In the swing regions of Central, Western and Greater Accra, JDM leads with 59.4%, DMB, 33.8%, AKK, 2.4%, NKB, 4.3% and others with 0.1%. Compared the previous week, JDM is up 5.5 percentage points while the rest lost ground.
Dr Mahamudu Bawumia leads in three (3) out of the sixteen (16) regions while John Mahama currently leads in thirteen regions (13). The Economy, jobs and education are the three remaining concerns for voters. Economy and jobs remain stable at 75% and 69% respectively, voters concern for education has now elevated to nearly 52% from 46%.
