In a strongly worded press conference, Executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Awutu Senya East Constituency have accused their Member of Parliament, Hon. Phillis Naa Koryoo Okunor, of engaging in acts of intimidation and employing divide-and-rule tactics against party members.
Addressing the media, the Constituency Organizer, Daniel Takyi Mensah, alongside the Deputy Constituency Communications Officer, Cobby Wilson, alleged that the MP has been using thugs to intimidate party executives.
They also claimed that she has deliberately sidelined deserving party members from taking up positions, creating divisions within the constituency leadership.
The Executives further alleged that the MP’s husband, Yussif, is complicit in these actions, accusing him of backing his wife in what they described as a betrayal of the grassroots members who worked tirelessly for the party’s victory in the just-ended Presidential and Parliamentary elections.
They issued a passionate appeal to former President John Dramani Mahama, Chief of Staff Julius Debrah, and NDC National Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketiah to urgently intervene and restore calm and unity within the constituency.
