The Presidency has announced the upcoming state visit of His Majesty King Mswati III, Ingwenyama of the Kingdom of Eswatini, to the Republic of Ghana.
The visit, scheduled from Tuesday, 24 June to Saturday, 28 June 2025, marks a significant milestone in the strengthening of bilateral relations between the two nations.
His Majesty will arrive in Accra on Tuesday, 24th June, where he will be received at the Jubilee House for high-level bilateral talks with President John Dramani Mahama and senior members of the Ghanaian government.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing cooperation in areas of mutual interest is expected to be signed.
Later that afternoon, King Mswati III will visit the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Secretariat to engage with officials on regional trade and integration matters.
He will then travel to Kumasi, the capital of the Ashanti Region, for the remainder of his visit.
In Kumasi, His Majesty will be the distinguished guest of the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II. His itinerary includes:
Official visits to the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA)
A tour of the historic Manhyia Palace Museum
An address to the National House of Chiefs
Participation in a grand durbar of chiefs in his honour at the Manhyia Palace
On Friday evening, a Royal Banquet will be held in his honour. The visit will conclude on Saturday, with His Majesty and the Asantehene attending a ceremonial event at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) before his departure from Ghana.
This state visit is expected to deepen diplomatic and economic ties between Ghana and Eswatini, while also highlighting the cultural bonds between the Asante Kingdom and the southern African nation.
