Radiogoldlive.com has picked information that after a meeting between the Electoral Commission(EC), National Democratic Congress(NDC) and the New Patriotic Party(NPP), it has been agreed that nineteen polling stations in the Ablekuma North Constituency will be re-runned to determine the next member of parliament for the constituency.
The parliamentary election results in the constituency are yet to be declared, nearly seven clear months after the December 7 polls leaving the area without a representative in Ghana’s 9th Parliament.
The collation of the election results has taken a contentious turn as the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has raised serious allegations of electoral malpractice against the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The Minority Caucus in Parliament on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 walked from Parliament to the CID Police headquarters in respect of the pro-longed collation and declaration of results for the 2024 Ablekuma North parliamentary elections.
The Caucus petitioned the Inspector General of Police (IGP), demanding maximum security to be provided to enable the EC collate and declare the 2024 Ablekuma North parliamentary results.
But the NDC rejected the minority’s call but rather suggested a re-run of the contentious polling statipns.
The EC is expected to communicate in the next 14-days the names of the affected polling stations and the date for the re-run.
