Full payment of USD 24.5 million enables timely vaccine procurement and reinforces commitment to child health
UNICEF Ghana has applauded the Government of Ghana for fully meeting its 2025 co-financing obligation of USD 24.5 million for vaccines, a move that ensures the timely procurement of essential vaccines and safeguards children’s health nationwide.
The advance payment significantly reduces the risk of vaccine shortages and bolsters Ghana’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its national immunisation programme.
“Timely and full payment of Ghana’s co-financing obligation is a clear sign of the government’s dedication to protecting every child,” said a UNICEF Ghana representative.
“This commitment ensures that no child is left unprotected and that immunisation coverage continues to expand.”
Ghana’s proactive approach marks a stark contrast to earlier years when vaccine shortages threatened the health of thousands of children.
With this payment, the country reinforces its pledge to safeguard child health and achieve universal immunisation coverage.
