Vice President and Chair of the Ghana Armed Forces Council, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has lauded the introduction of new training components at the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College, describing them as critical to addressing the complexities of today’s security environment.
Delivering her remarks at the College’s joint graduation ceremony on Friday, she emphasized that the addition of Multi-Domain Operations and Future Wars modules was a forward-looking initiative, especially as global and regional security challenges continue to evolve.

According to her, the increasing threats of terrorism, climate change, cross border crime and other unconventional risks make it imperative for military leaders to acquire innovative skills and fresh approaches to security management.
Professor Opoku-Agyemang also welcomed the integration of digitization awareness and cybersecurity into the curriculum, pointing out that technology now plays a defining role in shaping military operations. She noted that this adjustment signals the College’s determination to prepare officers for the realities of modern warfare.
A total of 135 officers graduated at the ceremony, among them 30 drawn from 16 partner African nations, alongside civilians who completed studies in Defence, International Affairs and Security Studies.

Commending the College for sustaining academic excellence despite a growing student population, the Vice President assured that government will continue to back the institution in strengthening teaching and research.
She further congratulated the graduating class, urging them to demonstrate integrity, adaptability, vision and an unwavering commitment to service in their future responsibilities as leaders.
