The Responsible Cooperative Mining and Skills Development Programme (rCOMSDEP) has marked another milestone in its efforts to transform Ghana’s small-scale mining sector, with participants from the Anyinsin and New Abirem Cohort I successfully completing their training programmes and receiving certificates.
The graduation ceremonies form part of ongoing efforts to equip small-scale miners with the knowledge, skills, and best practices required to operate responsibly, safely, and in compliance with mining regulations.

Participants underwent training in responsible mining practices, environmental stewardship, occupational safety, and sustainable mineral extraction, aimed at improving productivity while protecting communities and natural resources.
The programme reflects government’s commitment to formalising the artisanal and small-scale mining sector by investing in capacity building and promoting responsible mining practices across mining communities.

rCOMSDEP commended the graduates for their dedication and commitment throughout the training, expressing confidence that the knowledge acquired would contribute to safer operations, improved livelihoods, and stronger environmental protection within their respective communities.
The successful completion of the training by the Anyinsin and New Abirem cohorts adds to growing efforts to create a skilled workforce capable of supporting the long-term sustainability and development of Ghana’s small-scale mining sector.
