The leadership of the Ghana Medical Trust Fund (GMTF), led by the Administrator, Adjoa Obuobia Darko-Opoku has commenced a strategic media engagement tour aimed at strengthening partnerships with media organizations across the country.
The initiative forms part of the Trust Funds broader efforts to deepen collaboration with the media, enhance public understanding of its mandate, and mobilize support for its life-saving interventions among individuals, corporate institutions, and development partners.
The first stop on the engagement tour was the Despite Media Group, making it the first media organization to formally host the leadership of GMTF as part of the initiative. The management of Despite Media Group led by the Managing Director Fadda Dickson Narh and General

Manager Kennedy Asante Osei warmly received the delegation and expressed admiration for the Trust Fund's mission.
Administrator of the Trust Fund, Adjoa Obuobia Darko-Opoku outlined its mandate, achievements, ongoing interventions, and future plans; while highlighting the critical role the media can play in amplifying awareness about the Trust Fund and the impact it is making across the country.
She underscored the importance of strategic partnerships with media organizations in advancing the Trust Fund's vision of ensuring that no Ghanaian is denied access to quality healthcare because of financial difficulties.

According to her, although the Fund has already transformed the lives of many beneficiaries suffering from non-communicable diseases and other critical health conditions, there remains a pressing need to increase public awareness about its interventions and the opportunities available for individuals and organizations to support its work.,
The media remains one of our most valuable partners in this journey. We want media organizations not only to understand our mandate but also to help us tell the powerful stories of hope and survival that are emerging through the Fund. These stories have the potential to inspire greater public support and encourage more people and institutions to contribute to this noble cause, she said.
The GMTF boss noted that increased visibility for the Trust Fund would help attract donations from corporate bodies, philanthropists, development partners, and well-meaning individuals, thereby enabling it to extend support to more patients in need of life-saving treatment.

Management of Despite Media Group acknowledged the importance of the Trust Fund’s mission and expressed their willingness to support its objectives.
The management further assured the delegation that they would internally review possible areas of collaboration and support and subsequently revert to the Trust Fund with proposals on how Despite Media Group could contribute to advancing its work and expanding public awareness about its interventions.
The media engagement tour will continue with visits to other leading media organizations across the country as the Trust Fund seeks to build a strong coalition of media partners committed to supporting healthcare access and promoting the Fund’s life-saving interventions
