Member of Parliament (MP) for North Tongu Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has made provision for all pensioners in his constituency to access free medical care for all conditions not covered by the national health insurance scheme.
According to Mr Ablakwa, accessing treatment for health conditions not covered by the health insurance is the most pressing need of pensioners in his constituency, hence his move to resolve the problem.
” [I] had a very fulfilling meeting this afternoon with executives of the Local Pensioners’ Association of my beloved constituency.
We discussed a new MP’s initiative which would ensure that all members of their association receive free medical attention for health conditions not covered under the health insurance scheme starting immediately. I am informed this has been the most important concern of most members,” he announced on Facebook.
He added that he was going to also assist in the construction of an office complex and a social hall for the pensioners in his constituency.
“I also communicated my support towards the construction of the first-ever North Tongu constituency pensioners’ office complex and social hall.
It gives me great honour to collaborate with our senior citizens whose toil and sacrifices have brought our nation this far,” he added.
Mr Ablakwa has initiated several initiatives aimed at making life much easier in his constituency. He is even implementing a subsidy for cement in his constituency. He has intervened in every sector of life in his constituency.
