Media personality and broadcast journalist, Ewura Adam Karim has taken a dig at Minority Leader in Parliament, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, over his recent claims concerning alleged losses by the GoldBod.
According to Mr. Karim, host of Breakfast Café on Woezor TV, a close reading of the Minority Leader’s utterances regarding the GoldBod’s alleged $1.7 million losses suggests that his approach is more akin to content creation than substantive political scrutiny.
He said a careful analysis and tracking of Mr. Afenyo-Markin’s activities and claims against GoldBod and its Chief Executive Officer, Sammy Gyamfi, point to the style of TikTok content creators.
Appearing on Prime Point, a political talk show on Pan African TV over the weekend, Mr. Karim said the Minority Leader had made it difficult for NPP communicators to defend his attacks against GoldBod and its CEO.
“See, like I told you off air, I think that the Minority Leader is just a content creator and in his bid to create content, he’s found problems for his communicators,” he said.
“Because, as it stands now, there is not a single New Patriotic Party communicator who is able to defend the position of their Minority Leader,” he added.
The controversy follows the Minority Leader’s allegation that GoldBod incurred GH¢1.7 million in losses in 2025, a claim that has been rejected by the CEO of GoldBod, Sammy Gyamfi.
Mr. Gyamfi, in a recent response, alleged that the Minority Leader’s claims were linked to a failed extortion attempt.
Mr. Afenyo-Markin, responding to the allegation in the media, likened the accusation of extortion to the fate suffered by Jesus Christ.
Mr. Gyamfi has, however, challenged the Minority Leader to take him to court, saying he is prepared to substantiate his allegation before the court.
