Popular journalist, Kwasi Kyei Darkwa, has been on fire in the various media spaces for some days now. Recently, he slightly vented his anger at the Host of the Good Evening Ghana show, Paul Adom Otchere.
This follows Paul’s rant at KKD for lambasting the government. Reacting to that statement, KKD spilled the beans on how Paul Adom Otchere had flirted outside his matrimonial home with some woman at a cinema.
Oliver Barker Vorwamor has reacted to this revelation. He explained how Ghanaians have shown a culture of trivializing every serious issue in this country. He cited the issue with Paul as a clear example.
According to Barker, KKD had taken his time to talk about a whole lot of serious issues in the country. Yet, Ghanaians decided to only take one part of the issue which he talked about; Paul’s cheating allegation. This is a rather sharp and sudden twist as described by Oliver Barker.
“You see how quickly KKD’s honest frustrations have taken a turn and now some are happy talking about Paul Adom Otchere’s alleged cheating? That is now suddenly the hot take.
We trivialize everything in this republic, and keep underestimating the anger in the plains and countryside of this nation.”, Oliver Barker explained.
Another example is how Ghanaians trivialized the Ghana Card-Interchange comment made by Dr. Bawumia. Ghanaians took it as a complete joke without refusing to see the gravitas of the statement Bawumia had made. Should Dr. Bawumia be made President now, Ghanaians will see less infrastructural development and more digital projects. All the resources and revenues generated in this country will be used for digital projects.
But giving Ghanaians the benefits of the doubt, there is nothing that can be down now but engage oneself in comic relief to release stress rather than focus on the major issues that can cause mental stress.
