The deputy national youth organizer for the National Democratic Congress, Edem Agbana has dropped some revelations about the Ghana Accountability for Learning Outcomes Projects(GALOP) that may seem surprising to many. In his post, he exposed and accused the minister for Education, Yaw Osei Adutwum of lying.
In Edem Agbana’s recent post on Facebook, he made it clear that the GALOP was initiated by the government but there are some false statements that were made by the minister of education about the initiative. According to him, the minister of Education, Yaw Osei Adutwum claims that over 40,000 teachers from 685 schools, across 260 districts have been trained under this project.
Edem Agbana stated clearly and revealed that such claims from the minister are lies. He added that the supposed training never took place.
“Hon. Adutwum claims over 40,000 teachers from 685 schools across 260 districts were trained under the GALOP project. I can confidently say it is false. It was a piece of falsified information to receive further funding from the World Bank” he said.
He urged the ministry of education, under the leadership of Osei Yaw Adutwum to publish the names of teachers who benefitted from this project. He also urged him to list the names of the schools and the districts that were involved in this project.
“Where is the list of all 40,057 teachers trained on distance learning methods and their contact details, Where is the list of 686 schools in 260 districts as teachers he claimed to have trained” he stated
