A leading Ghanaian furniture and bedding manufacturer, Ashfoam Company Limited, has inaugurated its largest showroom in Accra, positioning the new outlet as a one-stop destination for home furnishings while calling for stricter enforcement against substandard mattress production.
The new flagship store, located at Rawlings Park Okaishie, forms part of the company’s broader expansion strategy aimed at improving customer convenience and promoting healthier sleep choices.
Speaking at the launch, Head of Marketing and Communications, Nana Yaw Ampem Darko, said the showroom will offer customers a wide range of options across more than 70 product lines, including clinical and orthopedic mattresses, sofas, bed linens and wardrobes.
He noted that the company, which operates over 1,400 outlets nationwide and employs approximately 4,000 people, also supplies products to several international-standard hotels, reinforcing its reputation as a major player in Ghana’s furniture industry.

Mr. Ampem Darko used the occasion to call on regulators, including the Ghana Standards Authority and the Ministry of Trade and Industry, to clamp down on unapproved and substandard mattress producers. He warned that weak enforcement not only undermines fair competition but also poses risks to public health and the country’s tourism sector.
He further urged consumers to prioritise products certified by the Ghana Standards Authority, adding that the company will ensure clear GSA labelling on items stocked in the new showroom to help buyers make informed choices. Ashfoam also announced plans to fully stock the facility in the coming weeks, with a public timeline to be communicated.
Reaffirming its commitment to local industry, Mr. Ampem Darko stressed that Ashfoam remains a wholly Ghanaian-owned and managed company, with nearly five decades of operations. He said the company continues to champion the “Made in Ghana” agenda, positioning itself as a leading producer of home textiles in both Ghana and the wider West African region.
According to him, Ashfoam produces a comprehensive range of products including mattresses, bed sheets, pillows and duvets, allowing it to serve as a one-stop shop for household furnishing needs.
He also highlighted the company’s long-standing quality assurance credentials, noting that Ashfoam has maintained ISO 9001:2015 certification for the past decade — a distinction he described as unique within Ghana’s mattress manufacturing sector. He added that the company consistently meets regulatory requirements through regular assessments by the Ghana Standards Authority.
As part of its growth strategy, Ashfoam plans to update its marketing materials to emphasise its nearly 50-year heritage, ISO certification and wide product range, in a bid to strengthen consumer confidence and support national efforts to promote locally manufactured goods.
In addition to the Rawlings Park outlet, the company operates another showroom in Accra opposite the Post Office, further expanding access to its products within the capital.
