A member of the COVID-19 Technical Team of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) says a rife atmosphere has been created for the spread of COVID-19 in the country.
Ghana’s cases have risen above 20,000 with an increasing death toll weeks after government patted itself on the back for doing an awesome job in the management of the pandemic.
Over 11,000 cases have been recorded in the month of June alone as government okayed the organization of New Patriotic Party primaries, National Identification Authority distribution of cards and mop-up registration and the Electoral Commission’s mass registration exercise.

Speaking to Sena Nombo on the Gold Power Drive, Alex Segbefia said the government has created “tea party and jamboree” environment for COVID-19.
Alex Segbefia said the pandemic management approach being adopted is akin to telling the virus to have field day and continue spreading.
He says government’s management of the COVID-19 gives the sense that it does not care about the lives of Ghanaians.
Government and the EC continue to ignore calls to stop the mass registration exercise because of the environment it has created for the spread of COVID-19.
The President of the Ghana Medical Association Dr. Frank Serebour has stated that the Chairperson of the EC Jean Mensah should be blamed for any fresh spike in COVID-19 with the health sector being ravaged by COVID-19.
