The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has launched the 2025 National Community Outreach Programme dubbed “Educating for a Safer Tomorrow”.
The initiative marks a major push to decentralise DVLA services and enhance road safety awareness nationwide.
At the heart of the outreach is DVLA’s Express Mobile Service (DEMOBS) — a roving mobile unit designed to bring driver licensing services directly to communities, workplaces, religious organisations, and public gathering spots across Ghana.
With the DEMOBS vans, Ghanaians can now access a full range of DVLA services without visiting a DVLA office. Services offered include,Application for new driver’s licences, Renewal and replacement of expired or missing licences, Issuance of International Driving Permits, Conversion of foreign licences and Upgrading of licence categories.
Interested groups, including corporate institutions, churches, mosques, transport unions, and community associations, are encouraged to reach out to DVLA to schedule a visit from the mobile unit.
DVLA launched the DEMOBS initiative in collaboration with the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service, Ghana National Fire Service, Ghana Ambulance Service, National Road Safety Authority (NRSA), Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU), Ghana Optometric Association and Top TV/FM
It is is sponsored by Margins Ghana, Verna Mineral Water, and Consolidated Bank Ghana (CBG) — whom DVLA credits for helping make the programme a reality.
Speaking at the launch at the Neoplan station, Kwame Nkrumah Circle in Accra on Thursday, the Chief Executive Officer of DVLA, Julius Neeqyuaye Kotey said, the 2025 Community Outreach programme is a symbol of DVLA’s commitment to stakeholder engagement and service excellence.
