John Dramani Mahama, flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has reaffirmed his commitment to improving the Free Senior High School (SHS) program. He emphasized that the program is irreversible and will continue to provide free education to students.
Speaking to constituents in Chiras, Sunyani West Constituency, Bono Region, Mahama highlighted that the NDC government initiated the progressively free SHS program during his administration. He urged Ghanaians to disregard claims that he would cancel the program if re-elected.
Mahama promised to enhance the program’s quality and abolish the double-track system. He also addressed feeding challenges by announcing that food procurement would be returned to school heads, as was previously done. This move aims to ensure efficient and effective management of food supplies for students.
