The Ghana Medical Trust Fund (GMTF) has signed a landmark partnership agreement with MDS-Lancet Laboratories Ghana Limited and Quest Medical Imaging to improve access to quality diagnostic services and strengthen healthcare delivery across the country.

The strategic collaboration is expected to enhance early disease detection, improve clinical decision-making and provide Ghanaians with timely, accurate and reliable diagnostic services, particularly for patients living with chronic and non-communicable diseases (NCDs).

The agreement brings together the Ghana Medical Trust Fund’s mandate to support the prevention and treatment of NCDs with the diagnostic expertise of MDS-Lancet Laboratories Ghana Limited and Quest Medical Imaging, reinforcing a shared commitment to improving health outcomes nationwide.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, the Administrator of the Ghana Medical Trust Fund, Adjoa Obuobia Darko-Opoku, described the agreement as a major milestone in the Fund’s efforts to build strategic partnerships that enhance healthcare delivery.

She said the collaboration demonstrated the commitment of all three institutions to making quality healthcare more accessible to Ghanaians.

“Today marks a significant milestone as the Ghana Medical Trust Fund, MDS-Lancet Laboratories Ghana Limited and Quest Medical Imaging formally establish a partnership that reflects our shared commitment to improving access to quality healthcare for the people of Ghana. Accurate and timely diagnostics are the cornerstone of effective treatment, and this collaboration represents an important investment in the health and wellbeing of Ghanaians,” she said.

Chief Executive Officer of MDS-Lancet Laboratories Ghana Limited, Dr. Paul Sekyere-Nyantakyi, welcomed the partnership, saying it aligns with the company’s mission of providing accessible, high-quality diagnostic services that support improved patient care across Ghana.

He expressed optimism that the collaboration would broaden access to advanced diagnostic testing and contribute to better healthcare outcomes for patients.

Officials said the partnership reflects a shared vision to strengthen Ghana’s healthcare system through innovation, expertise and strategic collaboration. Beyond expanding access to diagnostic services, the initiative is expected to facilitate early detection of diseases and support more effective treatment through timely and accurate diagnosis.

The three institutions reaffirmed their commitment to building a long-term partnership founded on trust, excellence and a common goal of improving lives through quality healthcare.

They expressed confidence that the collaboration would deliver lasting value to patients and make a meaningful contribution to advancing equitable and sustainable healthcare across Ghana.
