The Government of Ghana, through the Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF), has fulfilled its financial commitment to teacher trainees by disbursing all outstanding allowances for the 2023/2024 academic year. This payment benefits 65,685 students across 46 public Colleges of Education nationwide.
In a statement dated April 10, 2025, SLTF CEO Dr. Saajida Shiraz affirmed the fund’s dedication to facilitating access to tertiary education financing. She emphasized that the disbursement aligns with the government’s broader agenda to strengthen support systems within the education sector and ensure uninterrupted academic progression for future leaders.
The Teacher Trainees Association of Ghana (TTAG) has applauded the government for this significant gesture, viewing it as a testament to the administration’s continued support for teacher education.
Moving forward, the SLTF has committed to implementing robust measures to guarantee the consistency, reliability, and seamless execution of all future disbursements, ensuring they align with established policy directives.
