The National Women’s Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Hanna Louisa Bisiw-Kotei has encouraged the Member of Parliament of Tafo, Vincent Ekow Assafuah and former Black Stars captain, Asamoah Gyan to assist the Ghana Police Service in its investigation of the Kantamanto fire outbreak.
A fire broke out on January 2, destroying numerous shops at Kantamanto and leaving many traders devastated.
Dr. Hanna Bisiw’s call comes after both Vincent Ekow Assafuah and Asamoah Gyan allegedly made public statements implying they knew something about the fire outbreak.
While visiting the scene on Monday to console the victims, Dr. Hanna Bisiw stated that their opinion could be critical in uncovering the truth behind the disaster.
She also appealed to the general public to come forward with any information that could aid in the arrest and prosecution of those responsible for the fire.
She said, there was a need of collective effort in bringing the perpetrators to justice.
Dr. Hanna Bisiw also assured the affected traders that the incoming NDC government would provide them with the necessary support to rebuild their businesses, alleviate the economic burden caused by the fire and support the traders in getting back on their feet.
Dr. Hanna Bisiw was accompanied by the member of parliament-elect of Odododiodio, Alfred Nii Ashie Kootey and other party officials in the Odododiodio constituency.
