These may perhaps be the most sought after event seats in Ghana with only a hundred of them reserved.
These seats are to be occupied by carefully selected persons who will have the privilege of sitting in the outdooring of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Running mate
The move according to the Flagbearer of the biggest opposition is in respect for the laid down COVID-19 protocols.
The former President John Dramani Mahama has been an avowed advocate for Ghanaians to follow religiously the COVID-19 protocols.
Even though the historic nature of the event is not lost on him, former President Mahama is shying away from the grand ceremony that the outdooring of Prof. Nana Jane Opoku Agyemang deserves.
Prof. Naana Jane Opoku is the first woman to appear on the Presidential ticket of one of the major political party and has a chance at becoming the next Vice President of the Republic.
It would be recalled that the NDC Flagbearer earlier this week suspended unplanned tours of selected voter registration centers in the Greater Accra region because of the crowd his presence was attracting.
Former President John Mahama in a Facebook post said the 100 participants in the outdooring would be “drawn from a wide array of groupings.”
He however indicated that conscious efforts will be made to ensure that every Ghanaian witnesses the event from the comfort of their homes “with a live broadcast on radio and television and also a livestream across social media and on my various Handles and Pages, @JDMahama.”
“I will, on Monday at 6.45pm, host a ceremony to formally out-door my Running Mate for the December elections, Professor Naana Jane Opoku- Agyemang,” he stated.
The Leader and Flagbearer of the NDC described the former Vice Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast as a distinguished and respected academic who demonstrated innovative leadership during his tenure as Minister for Education.
“A distinguished and respected academic, Naana Jane is the first female Running Mate on the ticket of a major political party in Ghana. She is credited with pursuing a healthy mixture of innovative policy initiatives, quality outcomes and massive infrastructural development during her tenure as Minister for Education. “Story: SAN/Radiogoldlive.com
