Former President John Dramani Mahama is in the Ahafo region today as part of his campaign tour of the some regions within the enclave.
The former President arrived in the region early this morning and join executives and activists of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) who had gathered at Duayaw Nkwanta to receive the former President as the first stop of his Ahafo Region tour.
John Dramani Mahama is scheduled to visit all six constituencies of the region as part of his tour today.
Today’s activities will conclude his three-region tour of that has already taken him to the Bono East and Bono Regions.
The former president is seeking to lead the NDC into the 2024 general elections as the Flabearer and leader of the party.
He launched his campaign in the Volta regional capital Ho and subsequently toured the Region which is considered as the stronghold of the opposition party.
In a statement issued ahead of his arrival in the Ahafo region, Spokesperson for the John Mahama Campaign said the former President Mr. Mahama intends to visit branch and constituency executives across the country to canvass for an overwhelming endorsement of his candidature on May 13, 2023 when the party will hold primaries.
The former President has been described as the presumptive presidential candidate of the NDC.
