A 39 years old man whose name is given as Kyei Baffour is currently in the grips of the Police for posing as a Lawyer.
According to the Police, the suspect who has been practising for some time had a case at the Nyinahin District Magistrate court presided over by Vera Victoria Akonu.
The Magistrate is said to have had her reservations about the lawyer and therefore researched his background.
She found out that Kyei Baffour who claimed to have been called to the Bar in 2015 with his license number as EAR 21053/21 had lied because the Ghana Bar Association and the General Legal Council had denied knowledge of him.
The Magistrate Vera Victoria Akonu, therefore, ordered the arrest of Kyei Baffour who upon interrogation admitted that he was not a Lawyer but had some form of legal training in the United States of America.
He asserted that he passed the Law Entrance Examination in Ghana but he discontinued the Law Programme due to personal reasons.
Kyei Baffour has since been detained to assist the Police in its investigations and will be arraigned before the Circuit Court at Nkawie.
