President John Dramani Mahama has concluded his nationwide “Thank You Tour” in the Oti Region, expressing profound gratitude to the chiefs and people for their overwhelming support during the 2024 elections and pledging to accelerate development in the region.
Addressing a durbar of chiefs, opinion leaders, and residents in Dambai, President Mahama described Oti as “a region that holds a special place in my heart and in the future of our beloved Ghana.”
“I am here to say thank you to the chiefs, opinion leaders, youth, women, farmers, traders, and every citizen of this great region for the confidence you have shown in me and in our shared vision for a better Ghana,” he said.
The President emphasized that the 2024 elections represented more than just a political contest, calling it “an affirmation of our national covenant — a covenant rooted in justice, inclusion, and hope.”
“Through it all, the Oti Region stood tall, as a beacon of resilience and unity, showing once again that your voices and aspirations cannot and will not be ignored,” he added.
Mahama pledged to ensure that Oti receives “its fair share of national development,” outlining plans to expand road networks, modernize agriculture, improve healthcare and education, and create jobs for the youth.
“My commitment to you is to serve with dedication, to lead with vision, and to deliver results that transform lives,” the President declared. “Oti will not be left behind in our collective drive to build a prosperous Ghana.”
Concluding his address, President Mahama lauded the resilience of the people of Oti and called for unity in pursuing national development.
“The journey ahead will not be easy, but together, with determination, we will build a Ghana where every region — including Oti — stands proud as a pillar of our growth,” he said. “May God bless the Oti Region. May God bless our homeland Ghana, and make her great and strong.”
