President John Dramani Mahama has wrapped up his nationwide “Thank You Tour” with a final stop in the Oti Region, drawing thousands of enthusiastic supporters who gathered at Dambai to hear his message of gratitude and hope.

The tour, which took the President across all 16 regions over two months, was aimed at appreciating Ghanaians for their continued support while listening to their concerns and reaffirming government’s commitment to accelerating development.

Speaking at the grand durbar, President Mahama said the Oti Region epitomized the resilience and aspirations of ordinary Ghanaians.

“I am here to say a heartfelt thank you,” Mahama told the cheering crowd. “From the cocoa farmer in Nkwanta to the trader in Kadjebi, your faith in our vision keeps us going. We are building roads, extending electricity, and creating opportunities – not for some, but for all.”
He cited several projects underway in the region, including the upgrading of the Nkwanta-Dambai road corridor, ongoing rural electrification drives, and the expansion of healthcare facilities. He pledged to continue prioritizing job creation, especially through agriculture and the emerging agro-processing industry.

Local Voices of Hope
Residents who attended the rally expressed optimism that the President’s visit would accelerate long-promised developments.

“We are excited to see the President here. It shows he hasn’t forgotten Oti,” said Adwoa Mensah, a market trader from Jasikan. “Our biggest concern is the road network, and hearing him promise its completion gives us hope.”

Kwame Adjei, a youth leader in Kadjebi, called on the government to expand vocational training opportunities.

“We want jobs, not handouts. If the President’s policies on youth enterprise work, it will change lives here,” he said.

Party Officials Rally Support
Regional executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) also used the event to energize grassroots supporters.

“Our President has listened, and our party is committed to delivering,” said John Kwadwo Gyapong, the Oti Regional NDC Chairman who is also the Regional Mini6.

“The Thank You Tour has reignited the spirit of unity and determination among our people.”

The tour, which began in the Volta Region, saw President John Dramani Mahama visiting the various regional capitals engaging directly with citizenry.

In each region, he highlighted government’s achievements and outlined plans for infrastructure, energy, and social development.

Looking Ahead
As the Oti durbar drew to a close, President Mahama assured residents that their concerns had been noted and would shape his administration’s next steps.

“This tour is not the end – it is the beginning of deeper engagement,” he said.

“We will not rest until every region feels the impact of inclusive development.”

With the Thank You Tour concluded, political observers note that the outreach has not only reinforced the President’s connection with the people but also strengthened the NDC’s grassroots machinery ahead of the next election cycle.
