John Mahama has promised to rebuild the Hajj Village and reduce Hajj fares if the National Democratic Congress (NDC) wins the 2024 elections. He emphasized the importance of making the Hajj pilgrimage more accessible and affordable for Ghanaian Muslims.
Mahama highlighted the progress made by the NDC government in improving the Hajj experience, including moving the Hajj Village to its current location near Kotoka International Airport.
However, he expressed disappointment that the current NPP government has allegedly sold the land on which the Hajj Village is situated.
The former president vowed to prioritize policies that support the Muslim community, including rebuilding the Hajj Village with permanent infrastructure and reducing Hajj fares.
He also promised to work with the Hajj Committee to make the pilgrimage more affordable and comfortable for Ghanaian Muslims.
