“He has a record to stand on.”
That is according to the NDC Running mate Prof. Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang who was referring to former President John Mahama’s bid for a second term as President.
The former President lost his second term bid in 2016 but is making a strong claim for the presidency in the 2020 elections, after close to three years in opposition on the ticket of the largest opposition party the National Democratic Congress.
Speaking at a ceremony to introduce her to Islamic leaders, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang said the NDC would fight for office on the record of the former President whiles he was in office between 2013 and 2016.
She urged the governing party to also proudly put out their record and defend it.
The NDC Running mate referred to the recent scenes in Ghana’s Senior High Schools when some students went on rampage insulting the President, vandalizing school property and assaulting people after struggling with their first WASSCE paper.
Prof. Naana Opoku Agyemang believes that the condemnable scenes are a reflection of the current state of Ghana’s Senior High Schools under the Nana Akufo-Addo led administration.
She said the incident was the first in Ghana’s history.
The NDC Running mate assured that the promises made by the NDC Flagbearer are ones that he intends to deliver.
