The Running mate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Prof. Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang has paid a glowing tribute to the Flagbearer of the party former President John Mahama.
Speaking at a ceremony to introduce her to Islamic leaders, Prof Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang described the former President as courageous.
According to her the courage of the former President is evident in his historic decision to choose her as a Runnung mate and also take risk to make a bid for the Presidency after losing power in the 2016 elections.
“A very courageous man who is not afraid to make history and not for the sake of his own or for the sake of his running mate but for the sake of the country,” she stated.
Prof. Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang believes the former President if elected into power will bring the change that is eluding the country at this time.
She was appalled at the violence that was experienced during the voter registration exercise and was confident that the former President was the best person to unite the country in these difficult times.
“The time is now to make a difference. The time is now to have a simple exercise called registration where nobody dies. The time is now for us to know that we are one people.”
“The time is now for us to know that we are one people. The time has not come for us to think that the sound of a person’s name is a better determinant than even a birth certificate. Let us work for the unity of this country.”
“We have too many problems to engage in these activities that are not helpful,” she stated.
The NDC Running mate also said the NDC intended to improve on its record in office if given the nod.
