The Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA) has signed a strategic partnership agreement with FarmMate Limited to support 10,000 farmers and create over 300,000 jobs across Ghana’s agricultural value chain.
The agreement, led by the Minister for Food and Agriculture, Eric Opoku, and the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of FarmMate Limited, Sena Amevor, is aimed at boosting productivity, strengthening agribusiness, and expanding employment opportunities within the sector.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Hon. Opoku described the partnership as a significant step toward modernizing agriculture and improving livelihoods.
“This initiative is not only about increasing production but also about creating sustainable jobs along the entire agricultural value chain,” he said.

The programme will focus on providing farmers with access to inputs, technical support, and market linkages, while also driving agro-processing and value addition.
A key component of the partnership is its strong emphasis on youth development. The initiative will prioritize training and apprenticeship programmes designed to equip young people with practical skills in modern agriculture and agribusiness.
“This partnership places a premium on youth empowerment. We want to make agriculture attractive and profitable for the next generation,” the Minister added.
Mr. Amevor noted that FarmMate Limited is committed to leveraging innovation and private sector expertise to support farmers and scale impact.
“Our goal is to build a resilient agricultural ecosystem that supports farmers, creates jobs, and contributes meaningfully to national development,” he said.
The collaboration is expected to enhance productivity, reduce unemployment, and strengthen Ghana’s agricultural value chain, positioning the sector as a major driver of economic growth.
