President John Dramani Mahama is set to deliver on another major campaign promise this week with the launch of three key initiatives:
The Adwumawura, Mahama Cares, and the National Apprenticeship programmes.
According to President Mahama, the initiatives are part of the social contract the National Democratic Congress (NDC) established with the people of Ghana during the recent election campaign period.
The programmes aim to boost employment, provide skills training, and offer social protection to thousands of Ghanaians, particularly the youth.
The President will officially launch the Adwumawura programme today at Prempeh College in Kumasi, in the Ashanti Region.
The event is expected to attract key stakeholders from the education, business, and public sectors, as well as representatives from youth organizations across the country.
The Adwumawura initiative, which translates to “Master of Jobs,” seeks to create sustainable employment opportunities by supporting skills development and entrepreneurship.
Similarly, Ghana Medical Trust Fund, widely known as Mahama Cares programme is designed to provide financial support for people suffering from chronic diseases such as cancer, kidney failure, and heart conditions.
The initiative is expected to ease the financial burden of treatment and improve access to healthcare for affected individuals.
Meanwhile, the National Apprenticeship programme aims to formalize and expand technical and vocational education for young Ghanaians.
These efforts are seen as a significant step towards reducing unemployment and fostering economic empowerment nationwide.
President Mahama reiterated his administration’s commitment to creating a more inclusive economy where every citizen can thrive.
More details on the implementation strategies and timelines for the programmes are expected to be outlined during today’s launch.
