Kwame Asare Obeng has credited President John Dramani Mahama with sustaining development projects across political transitions, describing it as a rare departure from partisan governance.
A Plus said Ghana is witnessing an unusual continuity in infrastructure development despite a change in government.
“This is the first time in the history of this country where a government has left power and projects did not take a break,” he said on UNFILTERED with KSM monitored by MyNewsGh.
He cited ongoing road projects and interchanges initiated under the previous administration but continued under Mahama, arguing that the president does not politicise development.
“John Mahama does not politicize development,” A Plus stated. “The roads are still ongoing. The projects did not stop.”
However, he cautioned the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) to remain vigilant and avoid arrogance after returning to power.
“Eight years in opposition was not easy,” he warned. “They must be very careful.”
A Plus also revealed that he maintains direct access to the president but has no interest in ministerial appointments.
“The president knows I don’t want anything,” he said. “I’ve never gone to a president for a favour.”
He described Mahama as a blessing to the country and urged supporters to speak openly about government achievements rather than waiting until power is lost.
“We are going to spend years telling Ghanaians about the good things John Mahama is doing,” he said. “We will not wait until he leaves power before we appreciate him.”
