Journalist and media practitioner with Radio Gold 90.5 FM, Patrick Asford Kwabena Boadu (PAB), has officially picked his nomination forms to contest the Weija-Gbawe Constituency Chairmanship position of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The move marks the formal commencement of his bid to lead the party at the constituency level, with his campaign expected to focus on grassroots mobilisation, effective communication, unity and strengthening the organisational structures of the NDC in Weija-Gbawe.
Patrick Asford Kwabena Boadu is a journalist and media practitioner with Radio Gold 90.5 FM, where he contributes to political reporting, governance analysis and public affairs discourse.
He is also a member of the Presidential Press Corps, serving as an accredited correspondent at the Jubilee House, where he covers executive government activities and major state events.
Beyond his career in journalism, Mr. Boadu currently serves as the Communication Officer of the NDC in the Weija-Gbawe Constituency, where he has been involved in political communication, media engagement and constituency-level public relations.
His experience in political communication and grassroots party activities has positioned him as a familiar figure within the constituency’s political landscape.
Academically, Patrick Asford Kwabena Boadu holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management from Methodist University Ghana and a Master’s degree in International Relations and Diplomacy from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).
He is currently pursuing a second Master’s degree in Public Policy and Governance at Methodist University Ghana, further broadening his expertise in governance, public policy, strategic communication and public administration.
His professional and academic interests include governance, diplomacy, political communication, public accountability and democratic development.
His decision to contest the chairmanship is expected to generate interest among delegates and party supporters as the NDC prepares for its internal elections in the Weija-Gbawe Constituency.
Mr. Boadu has previously expressed his commitment to rebranding, reforming, rebuilding and resetting the NDC in Weija-Gbawe, with a strong emphasis on empowering Branch Executives and strengthening the party from the grassroots.
His campaign message is anchored on the principle:
“Branch Executives First! Empowerment is my priority.”
The constituency chairmanship contest is expected to attract other interested aspirants as the party’s internal electoral process progresses.
