A violent clash at St. Paul Senior High School last Saturday has led to the arrest of several final-year students, sparking controversy within the community.
According to reports, the incident involved the destruction of school property, prompting authorities to demand that parents of the culprits pay GHS 3,600 each as compensation for the damages.
However, concerns have emerged after it was revealed that some innocent students — who only witnessed the incident but did not participate — were also arrested and detained.
The students have spent more than 24 hours in police custody and, as a result, have already missed parts of their ongoing examinations.
Parents and education stakeholders are appealing for a fair investigation to distinguish between perpetrators and bystanders, warning that detaining innocent students could jeopardize their academic future.
Meanwhile, all efforts to establish the exact cause of the violence from school authorities have so far proved futile.
