Founding President of the IMANI Center for Policy and Research Franklin Cudjoe has accused the Supreme Court of abdicating its public policy role in dealing with the issue regarding the voters register.
The Supreme Court refuted the opposition NDC’s plea for the EC to be compelled to accept the old voters ID card as a source document in the just ended exercise.
The court also cast a slur on the credibility of the birth certificate.
Franklin Cudjoe told Sena Nombo on the Gold Power Drive the Supreme Court in reaching those decisions failed its public policy mandate.
He said the failure of the Supreme Court allowed the EC a wide discretion to do whatever it wanted without proper basis.
He also accused the deputy Attorney General Godfred Yeboah Dame of “charming some numbers claiming the register is bloated” during the hearing of the matter.
The Founding President of IMANI however believes the interest of the NPP would have been better protected if they had allowed science and statistics to lead them.
He said the just ended voter registration would not favour the NPP in any way because voter numbers in areas that voted for the NPP in 2016 are not encouraging in the new register.
Franklin Cudjoe said the claim that the voter register in the Volta region was bloated is a lie.
