President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has said that persons in the Ashanti Region who see no good in his work as President but only say negative things about him will be put to shame as he continues to do his best possible for the people of the Region.

Speaking in Twi during the Sod Cutting Ceremony for the Suame Interchange Project in Suame Tuesday, October 18, 2022, President Akufo-Addo said that much could be achieved if only we( as Ghanaians) put our minds to it, stressing that doubting Thomases who only spew negativity about him be disgraced in the end.

President Akufo-Addo has been much criticized in the media in the Ashanti Region for, what some say, his failure to fulfill promises to the people of Ashanti. They have been demonstrations and threats of not voting for the President’s New Patriotic Party (NPP) in subsequent elections but the President has said he is unfazed.

In an interview on OTEC FM yesterday October 17, 2022, President Akufo-Addo said that threats by the people of Kwabre East that if their roads are not fixed, they will not vote for the NPP in 2024 do not bother him and that he cannot force them to not vote for any party. Assuring, however, that he would address their issues as and when possible.
