The Chief of Staff Akosua Frema Osei-Opare has charged the leadership of Valley View University to place emphasis on moral education to churn out graduates that would combat moral decadence in Ghana.
According to her Valley View University as a renowned Christian University has an obligation to train its students to influence the morals of society.
The Chief of Staff was speaking at the induction ceremony of Professor William Kofi Koomson as Vice chancellor of Valley View University.
Ms Akosua Frema Osei-Opare urged the new Vice Chancellor to make research the focus of science and Technology education to make Valley View University a pacesetter in university education.
She believes an emphasis on technology and science research would help VVU overcome the ravages of COVID-19 which continues to threaten the survival of private universities.
Newly inducted Vice chancellor of Valley View University, Professor William Kofi Koomson pledged to rise to the task and work diligently to etch its reputation as a Christian University in Ghana.
“The task is to work hard to meet the mandate of the university with the teaching of christian discipline and moral standards,” he said.
According Professor William Kofi Koomson, the university has been implementing “pause and pray” principles where students at the campus pause at 12:15 every day and pray as part of efforts to imbibe christian discipline in the students.
He promised to accord utmost respect and dignity to staff and students at the university.
Professor William Kofi Koomson is the 8th Vice Chancellor of Valley View University which represents West – Central Africa Edition of premier chattered private university which is an offspring of the seventh day Adventist Church.
