Tema Youth goalkeeper Christian Addai suffered a horrific leg fracture as his side won 1-0 against Bibiani Gold Stars in their 2nd group game at the ongoing Division One League Super Cup.
The bright goalkeeper was rushing out to stop a 50-50 ball late in the game but was clattered onto by a Gold Stars attacker at the Madina AstroTurf on Friday morning.
Evans Osei Wusu scored the only goal of the game in the 68th minute. He stabbed home emphatically from a cutback past the goalkeeper whose outstretch hand couldn’t keep the ball out.
The win means Tema Youth have qualified for the semifinals of the Division One League Super Cup after earlier beating Bofoakwa Tano 1-0 in their first group game.
They lead Group A with 6 points after picking two wins in two games.
