The leadership of the Young Progressive Network (YPN), President Lawyer Samuel Chaitey Barketey, Vice President Lawyer Edward Yaw Udzu, and Convener Patrick Asford Boadu on Wednesday paid a courtesy call on the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly, Hon. Felix Odartey Lamptey.
The delegation officially introduced the Young Progressive Network and its flagship initiative, the Sanitation Brigade for Development, to the MCE.
They proposed that the Assembly adopt and collaborate with the Network to bolster the municipality’s sanitation drive and advance efforts toward a cleaner environment.
“Our objective is to complement the Assembly’s commitment to sanitation.
The Sanitation Brigade is prepared to support your effort to keep Weija-Gbawe clean and environmentally safe,” President Lawyer Samuel Chaitey Barketey stated.
The meeting also centered on strategies to curb youth unemployment and promote developmental projects across the municipality.
The leadership emphasized the need for structured youth empowerment programmes and enhanced support for community-led initiatives.
“We believe strong collaboration will help reduce youth unemployment and drive sustainable development for the benefit of our people,” Convener Patrick Asford Boadu noted.
The Network further appealed for immediate attention to deteriorating roads and choked drains, stressing the potential health and safety risks these conditions pose to residents.
Hon. Felix Odartey Lamptey commended the Young Progressive Network for its proactive leadership and pledged closer collaboration. “Your dedication to community development is remarkable.
I look forward to further engagements with your Executive team to fast-track infrastructure development and ensure peace and order in the municipality,” the MCE assured.
The courtesy call concluded with a shared commitment to deepen partnerships for the progress of the Weija-Gbawe Municipality.
