The New York Branch of the National Democratic Congress has blamed Ghana’s crisis on the hubris and “know it all” attitude of the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government.
According to them this “know it all” attitude was the unmaking of the government and the country as they refused to heed any caution from the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
In a statement issued by the Secretary Alhaji Baba Iddris, NDC New York said the “know it all” attitude of the government has led to the mismanagement of the robust economy they inherited from the NDC’s government.
“The wages of the show of their hubris are the mismanagement of the robust economy they inherited from the NDC’s government. This is manifested in the current economic decay,” NDC New York stated.
NDC New York was also of the opinion that the current crisis can be directly traced to the actions of the government.
“In the heydays of this government, they engaged in reckless borrowing and enlargement of government size as if there wasn’t tomorrow.”
“They behaved like a child who just got their first credit card whiles living with their parents.”
“They went on spending spree whiles mocking the NDC’s economic expert, who continuously cautioned of a looming mess.”
