The RNAQ Foundation, led by Chief Executive Officer, Richard Nii Armah Quaye, has donated 500,000 cedis to the Ministry of Youth Development and Employment as part of the International Youth Day Celebration and to support initiatives aimed at eradicating drug abuse among Ghanaian youth. The generous contribution was presented today at the Ministry.
In his remarks, Richard Quaye emphasized the importance of securing a bright future for the country’s youth. He shared that he has employed many young people from various African nations and has become deeply concerned by the issue of drug abuse he has observed among some of them. He expressed hope that this donation would help the Ministry combat this growing problem.
“The youth are important to me, and I will do everything to ensure their future is secured,” he stated. He urged young people to avoid drug abuse and focus on turning their goals and ambitions into reality.
In response, the Minister for Youth Development and Employment, George Opare Addo, commended the CEO and businessman’s generosity and vision. He acknowledged that while some may not see the urgency of the issue, drug abuse has the potential to affect all segments of society, including the families of the wealthy.
The Minister stressed the need for a collaborative approach involving both the government and private citizens to tackle the problem effectively. He praised Richard Nii Armah Quaye for his proactive thinking and urged other Ghanaians to follow the RNAQ Foundation’s lead in giving back to the community and the nation.
He further affirmed the commitment of President John Dramani Mahama and his administration to significantly eradicate drug abuse, if not eliminate it entirely, to foster a healthier youth population.
