Ghana striker, Jordan Ayew does not want to put undue pressure on himself by thinking about the 2022 FIFA World Cup which comes up in November.
The Crystal Palace forward was a mainstay in coach Otto’s squad that went past the Super Eagles of Nigeria to qualify for the global football showpiece in Qatar.
Speaking exclusively to Adamu Muftawu of Radio Gold Sports, the 30-year-old says he wants to focus on himself and club football for now.
“The most important thing is that, for now I just need to focus on myself and rest well and start the season with Crystal Palace and be fit and I will do my best with Crystal Palace.
“The World Cup is far but it’s not too far so we will focus on that when the time comes but for now it’s Crystal Palace in my head and I will do my best to be in good shape and that’s the most important thing for me.” Jordan Ayew told Radio Gold Sports.
Jordan, who has extended his stay at the Selhurst Park for one more season, scored three times in 31 league appearances last season.
He made 23 starts and eight substitute appearances for the Eagles who will open the 2022/23 English Premier League season at the Emirates against Arsenal.
