RANA motors has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with KIA corperation to offer technical and skilled development training for its workers and other engineers in the automobile industry.
The already started training program is been conducted by the West African Vehicle Academy which is a technical training center established by RANA motors.
The agreement between RANA motors and the KIA cooperation would among others provide opportunities for local individuals in Ghana and other Africa countries to gain knowledge and enhance their skills in the automobile sector.
The partnership will involve sharing technical knowledge, training materials to develop the expertise of existing and aspiring technicians, mechanics and staff.
The partnership emphasizes the importance of skills development and education to improve the standards of vehicles in Africa.
The MOU has been described as a positive development that can promote quality education and high technical standards across West Africa’s automobile sector.
About West African Vehicle Academy
The idea of the RANA motors West African Academy started five years ago with support from GIZ and Bosch.
The objective was to offer technical training programs on the use of the state-of-the-art diagnostics equipment and software.
Since its inception, the academy has offered training in both theoretical and practical application on the workshop floor, classroom and hands-on training of technical staff at customer sites.
According to RANA motors, the West African Academy is well positioned to handle the tools, equipment and training materials to be provided by KIA corperation.
Speaking during the MOU signing ceremony, Chief Operation Officer of RANA Motors, Kassem Odaymat expressed readiness to utilize the logistics to enhance the training.
“We are in a new era and the emerging automotive technologies are closing in on us here. We in the industry here cannot wait; Ghana cannot wait. This is why we are happy with the initiative of KIA Corporation to partner RANA Motors to help equip our local technicians, students and players in the auto industry, to be abreast with the transformational development of up-coming vehicles types and to function efficiently in the maintenance of advanced hi-tech vehicles, soon expected to be the choice in our country”.
On his part, head of ownership enhancement at KIA Corporation, Kwangbyong Lee said the partnership underscores KIA’s dedication to nurturing a skilled workforce in Ghana, ensuring top-tier services to KIA customers.
“I believe this MOU is not just KIA Corperation and RANA Motors, it is about the people of Ghana, the future workforce and the promise of a brighter tomorrow” Mr. Kwangbyong Lee had said.
