Ghanaian musician Akwaboah has finally addressed the rumors and speculation surrounding his marital status and fatherhood. In a candid interview with Delay TV, he confirmed that he has children with different women but did not marry any of them.
The rumors began circulating during Akwaboah’s wedding, with people claiming that he had fathered children with multiple women and then left them to marry his new wife, who was supposedly a virgin. These allegations led to widespread criticism on social media, and Akwaboah initially responded subtly to his critics online.
However, in the interview with Deloris Frimpong Manso, Akwaboah openly discussed his past relationships and the decisions he made. He acknowledged that having children with two separate women and then leaving them to marry another was not something he was proud of, but he emphasized that his choices were influenced by specific circumstances.
“In life, these things happen. We give ourselves some timelines or we expect certain things to happen, but they don’t go as planned. But we still moved on,” Akwaboah explained. “Growing up as a man, I wasn’t happy about having children with two separate women and leaving them to marry another. But situations happened, and it’s something I cannot explain now.”
When asked if he would have stayed in those relationships if things had been more peaceful, Akwaboah admitted, “Perhaps if those relationships had been more peaceful, I would have remained in them.”
Addressing the question of why he broke the virginity of two women and then decided to settle for a virgin, Akwaboah clarified, “They were not virgins when I met them. For my wife, I didn’t go for her because she was a virgin. I didn’t even know until I told her I wanted to be with her.”
Akwaboah’s honest and open discussion sheds light on the complexities of relationships and the unexpected turns that life can take. His story highlights the personal journey he has been on and the difficult decisions he has had to make along the way.
