The NDC Professionals Forum-US has dismissed the New Patriotic Party’s 2024 manifesto as shallow.
According to the group, the manifesto was not ambitious enough, neither was it transformative nor does it seek to address the hardship the NPP has put Ghanaians through.
In a statement copied to Radio Gold and signed by President of the group, Arnold Appiah, NDC Pro-Forum further dismissed the “Bawumia means business” mantra that has been a major feature of all communications on the manifesto.
The group stated Dr. Bawumia should have implemented most of the promises contained in the manifesto while serving as Vice President if he truly meant business.
The group described the manifesto as “job for the boys” and criticized its lack of concrete policies for developing specific regions.
The group said Veep Bawumia should have in his current position, mustered same courage he used to convince his Boss of the need to implement Gold for Oil, to make a case for the abolishment of the E-levy and betting and reducing levies at Ghana’s ports to make them competitive in the sub-region.
NDC Pro-Forum US also highlighted the failure of the manifesto to propose measures and policies to address economic crisis which Akufo-Addo/Bawumia led administration has created and the wanton corruption over which they have presided.
The group said the manifesto is silent on a transformational policy recognizing that the country is broke and unable to pay its debt.
“Your manifesto can be effective when you have very robust economy. We do not see how he intends to implement these hollow points that he raised in a broken economy,” the NDC Pro-Forum stated.
